(RALEIGH) -- Unemployment rates increased in 99 of North Carolina’s 100 counties in November. That is according to the latest figures released Tuesday by the state’s Employment Security Commission.
“While the unemployment rates were up in 99 counties during the month of November, over-the-year, the rates have declined in 81 counties,” said ESC Chairman Lynn R. Holmes.
North Carolina had 44 counties that were at or below the state’s unadjusted unemployment rate of 9.9 percent. Rates increased in all 14 of the state’s Metropolitan Statistical Areas. Davie County was the only county in November that did not see its jobless rate increase in November.
Graham County had the highest unemployment rate in November at 18.6 percent.
