(Durham) -- Durham-based pomdevices, LLC has been honored by Popular Science Magazine with an award for 2011 Product of the Future.
pomdevice has developed Sonamba, an innovative handheld tool that allows concerned -- yet busy -- professionals keep tabs on their aging parents. Sonamba receiving status updates throughout the day via text or email messages. Sonamba observes motion and sound activity in the senior’s home and compares this activity level to historic activity levels, alerting caregivers if actions start to deviate from established normal activity. Seniors will enjoy text messaging and social communication, which is enabled with Sonamba’s easy-to-use touchscreen keyboard interface.
