(CHARLOTTE) -- Snyder's-Lance, Inc. reported second quarter loss of $3.84 million. This compared to a $12.4 million profit for Lance during the same period last year. Lance merged with Snyder's of Hanover in December.
Net revenues for the company during the second quarter were $413 million. That's up 75 percent when compared to Lance only revenues during the same period last year.
"Although our second quarter profitability was disappointing, our company remains strong and on track to complete the integration plans laid out following the merger which created Snyder's-Lance," said David V. Singer, Chief Executive Officer. "With the exception of our private brands products, the Company's sales and profitability are in line with our expectations."
Charlotte-based Snyder's-Lance, Inc. also announced that it will acquire George Greer Company, Inc. The move is part of the Company's plans to continue growing and strengthening its distribution network. George Greer currently serves Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire markets.
