New operations center brings 200 jobs to Mecklenburg Co. |

(RALEIGH) -- A transportation logistics provider is expanding in Charlotte. XPO Logistics, Inc. is opening a new North American Operations Center that will create 200 jobs over the next three years.
Gov. Bev Perdue confirmed that XPO is eligible for a state grant. If XPO meets the targets called for under the agreement and sustains them for 10 years, it could receive $3.22 million.
“Globally competitive companies looking to expand or relocate operations know that North Carolina provides a knowledgeable and skilled workforce, thanks to our past investments in education,” said Gov. Perdue. “They also realize that our focus on infrastructure and transportation makes North Carolina a perfect location as businesses reach further around the globe.”
“We are extremely pleased that the state has been so supportive of our plans to centralize key operations in Charlotte," said COO Sean Fernandez. "XPO Logistics is growing quickly, and the new center will give us the infrastructure we need to support a much larger company.
Fernandez said the company expects expect to start hiring immediately.
