Customers of Wells Fargo are angry after the bank announced Thursday they will have to pay a monthly seven dollar fee beginning in August in order to maintain a checking account.
An estimated 14 million customers will be affected, including customers in North Carolina. One Wells Fargo customer in Charlotte tells WSOC-TV the new fee is not fair. "Seven dollars they're charging us, then they're going to give executives big bonuses, that's not fair." Officials at Wells Fargo say there are two ways to avoid the fee. Customers can maintain either a $1,500 dollar minimum daily balance or maintain a $500 dollar minimum direct deposit each month.
