152 jobs set to come to Burke County |

(RALEIGH) -- A maker of electrical products plans an expansion in Burke County. Leviton Manufacturing Company, Inc.will create 152 jobs over three years and make a capital investment of $7.3 million in Morganton.
Gov. Bev Perdue confirmed that the company is eligible for a Job Development Investment Grant that could be worth up to $1.1 million. Leviton must meet job create and investment target established in an agreement in order to receive the incentives.
“The business climate is North Carolina is thriving and Leviton knows this is the right place to expand their operations,” said Perdue.
Headquartered in Melville, N.Y., the company currently employs 531 people in North Carolina. Leviton established manufacturing operations in North Carolina in the 1960's.
"Since that time we have found North Carolina to be an excellent environment to manufacture products," said Mark Baydarian, Leviton’s Chief Financial Officer. "Our North Carolina employees are loyal, dedicated and productive workers. Additionally, we have found the state to be fair and supportive of manufacturing growth.”
