(RALEIGH) -- A waste container and equipment manufacturer plans to locate a new facility in Caldwell County. Bakers Waste Equipment Inc will create 60 new jobs and invest invest more than $2.9 million over the next three years in Lenoir.

Gov. Bev Perdue confirmed that the company is eligible for a $180,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. BWE must meet specific job creation and investment targets in order to receive the grant.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for our company to consolidate three separate operations and to grow in Caldwell County,” said Ric Raines, president of BWE.

BWE already employs more than 80 people at its facilities in Burke and Catawba counties. Those operations will be consolidated into the new facility in Caldwell County.
