(LUMBERTON) -- In another sign that flu season is well underway, at least one North Carolina hospital is limiting visitor access to reduce spread of the virus.
Dr. Andrew Schwartz at Southeast Medical Center in Lumberton said that they are allowing only two family members to visit as a way to limit exposure.
He said, "One of the reasons we've had a call to action is not only the fact that there has been increased flu activity, but there has been one mortality attributed to the flu in the community."
Hospitals across the state are looking at their own policies, based on the severity of the flu in their area.
