(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- The President's budget is a step in the right direction. This is the view of North Carolina Congressman David Price. The Democrat said he believes President Barack Obama is trying to tackle the tough issues.
"I do think he has indicated his readiness to go to the table and I hope he'll find partners both among the majority Democrats in the Senate and the majority Republicans over here," said Price.
Republicans are criticizing President Obama's $3.73 trillion budget for 2012 for not dealing enough with federal deficits. The President predicts there will be "a little posturing on television," but Democrats and Republicans will come together to tackle problems with the nation's biggest expenses: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
Price said choices needed now may be tougher than ones made in the 1990s. "I think the fiscal situation is actually worse than it was then and the political situation is worse as well, so it's a huge challenge," price.
