(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- The countdown continues as Congress is moving toward a deadline to pass a budget or a temporary spending plan to keep government running. Republican Congresswoman Renee Ellmers said she fully supports a continuing resolution which sends a clear message about spending.
"We all ran on cutting funding, cutting taxes, pulling back government and we're doing that and as you saw over the weekend in the wee hours of Saturday morning, we passed our CR which cuts a $100 billion out of the budget," said Ellmers.
She added that she is disappointed at the reaction from the Democratic led Senate to the temporary spending plan. I want to tell the people of North Carolina that we are in a crisis situation. We have got to cut this spending.
