(CHARLOTTE) -- The price at the pumps has been going up daily since the unrest started spreading from the Middle East into Northern Africa.

Some stations have increased their price by more than seven cents since Thursday, and more than 13 cents in the past week.

Officials at Carolina Triple-A Motorclub say they do expect another jump, although they aren't sure how much it will be.

Right now, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded stands at $3.25 statewide, with the Triad having the lowest price for North Carolina at $3.22. Charlotte motorists are paying the most at an average of $3.30.

Speculation is that prices could stabilize come the first of the week if the cost of a barrel of crude oil stays at below $100.
