(WINSTON-SALEM) -- A Winston-Salem teacher who was suspended after allegations of inappropriate contact with a former student has been found dead. Brad Stanley, spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Chuck Warren's body was found Tuesday in a field.

"The medical examiner has now determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound and from all indications there's no foul play indicated and it appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound," said Stanley.

The school system had suspended Warren earlier on Tuesday after an allegation arose that he had inappropriate contact with a female student who graduated last year.
