(RALEIGH) -- After President Obama's visit to North Carolina, the main issue around the state and the country remains the job front. Despite recent negative news, N.C. State Economics Professor Dr. Mike Walden said there has been some progress in adding jobs over the past two years.
"The job market both nationally and in North Carolina bottomed out in February of 2010. Since that time, in the nation we've added around 1.5 million jobs nationally, and in North Carolina we've added about 50 to 55,000 jobs. So that's good, those are significant numbers," he said.
However, on the national front, the country hasn't recovered from job losses that occurred during the recession, when around 8 million jobs were cut.
