(RALEIGH) -- The North Carolina DOT wants to know what you think the biggest needs will be in the state's transportation system in about 30 years. D-O-T Spokeswoman Nicole Meister said they want as many people as possible to participate in a survey on the topic.
"A lot of folks, I think, do realize but they may not really think about that it takes us 20 and 30 years to plan a transportation project, whether it's rail, highway, bike and pedestrian facilities," said Meister.
She added that the survey will help leaders decide if they need to invest more in public transportation or keep spending most funding on highways. To participate in the survey and learn more about future DOT plans, visit the D-O-T website by clicking on http://www.ncdot.org/performance/reform/2040Plan/.
