(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- North Carolina Congressman David Price said the difficulty reaching an agreement between President Barack Obama and Republican Congressional leaders is troubling. The President wants common ground by week's end.
"I think we're at a pretty serious impasse here and the talks are going on again today, of course, and I guess that's a good sign that people are still talking," said Price. "If I had my way we wouldn't be undergoing this kind of brinkmanship and this kind of attempt to take hostages in this situation."
The President continues to reject Republican demands that he accept a short-term extension of the government's borrowing authority.
