(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- President Obama is making a stop in North Carolina this week as part of a nationwide tour to promote his $447 billion jobs package. Republican North Carolina U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers said there are some good parts to the President's proposal.
"I was encouraged on some of the things that he talked about which show that we can have bipartisan support moving forward on cutting regulations. He's finally admitted that we've got to do something about Medicare and Social Security in order to save it so that we can have it in the future, so that was encouraging, but, you know, he's just scratching the surface," said Ellmers.
The President's plan hopes to get a boost, starting Monday, from a new ad campaign launched by the Democratic National Committee.
