(RALEIGH) -- Enjoy what warmth is in North Carolina before it quickly slips away. North Carolina News Network Meteorologist Mike Moss said Friday morning that a drastic change is just hours away.
"We've got a cold front just to our west that looks like it's going to move across the state today. It'll be crossing Western North Carolina fairly early and then moving over eastern parts of the state during the afternoon and evening hours," said Moss.
After Friday the Tarheel State will trade high temperatures in the 80's for highs in the 60's. Parts of the mountains will also feel more like winter than fall. "We'll see temperatures that drop down into the 30's overnight tonight and just enough lingering moisture late tonight and early on Saturday that we may see sprinkles or some flurries or light snow showers in spots. Probably no accumulation with that in most areas."
