(WINSTON-SALEM) -- Officials at Winston-Salem State say they've concluded their investigation into what caused the ticket snafu at last Saturday's Chris Paul charity basketball game. They say the problem was that the athletics department simply overestimated the capacity of the Gaines Center.

It was estimated that the gym could hold 3,095 people, when the actual count was 700 less. Hundreds of fans who showed up to see NBA stars like Paul, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Carmello Anthony were upset when they were turned away at the door.

University officials say they had a deal to receive a $25,000 scholarship from the CP-3 Foundation, and so it made no difference how many tickets were sold.
