(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- The Occupy Wall Street movement continues around the world, and now there are organized efforts in Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte and Asheville. Senator Kay Hagan said the protestors are frustrated, just like many others.
"The demonstrators are certainly expressing the frustration that many Americans feel with the economy where it is right now, anemic growth and obviously these high unemployment rates, I think their frustration is understandable," said Hagan.
Hagan would not say whether she supported the movement, but did say she hears from many people frustrated over the partisanship in Washington. "I hear from people everywhere I go in North Carolina how concerned they are with unemployment and the bickering, the partisanship that's taking place on Capitol Hill."
Twenty people were arrested in Raleigh on Saturday during a protest at the State Capitol. Some demonstrators returned on Sunday and another demonstration is expected on Monday.
