(RALEIGH) -- A new report card released by Mothers Against Drunk Driving finds that North Carolina is on par with many other states in taking steps to eliminate drunk driving. Mothers Against Drunk Driving National President Jan Withers said there are two strong measures that North Carolina has taken.
"North Carolina does conduct sobriety checkpoints and you also require admission in our logs for offenders with a high level of blood alcohol concentration," said Withers.
The report rates each state on a five-star scale. North Carolina received three stars, which is on average with the rest of the country.
