(CHAPEL HILL) -- Gay marriage advocate Evan Wolfson denounced North Carolina's decision to hold a vote on an amendment to ban same-sex marriage during an address at the UNC Law School. Wolfson said there's one simple question that voters should ask themselves when they go to the polls next spring.
"Are we going to be a state, are we going to be a country that respects both personal freedom and religious freedom and that does not use the government as a weapon to impose any one religion idea on how people should live on everyone else," said Wolfson. Wolfson added that is is an outrage that anyone's freedoms should be put to a yes or no vote in America. He said that is what North Carolina is now faced with.
