(FAYETTEVILLE) -- Cumberland County authorities have discontinued a statewide AMBER Alert after a child feared abducted by her father was found safe.

The Fayetteville Observer reports 2-year-old Juliana Laticia Reyes, the girl who authorities say was taken by her father after her mother was shot to death Monday night, was found this morning in Virginia. Authorities say Reyes was located at a Food Lion grocery store near Newport News.

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said Newport News police reported that the girl was found inside the store about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Authorities are searching for 33-year-old Alexander Zelaya, a Salvadoran National, who they believe shot and killed his girlfriend, 22-year-old Marianna Latisha Reyes, then took their daughter. A first-degree murder warrant has been issued for Zelaya, who is accused of fatally shooting Reyes outside her Waco Drive house in Fayetteville.

The body of Marianna Latisha Reyes was found in the road near her home shortly after midnight. Police also said Zelaya robbed another man at gunpoint and took his burgundy Toyota.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500.
