(RALEIGH) -- The state will raze and reconstruct a dozen bridges in Johnston County.

Contracts for the work will be awarded in April with work starting shortly thereafter. Replacing all of the bridges is expected to take up to three years

The Shoeheel Road bridge over Buffalo Creek north of Micro
The Micro Road bridge over Buffalo Creek north of Micro
The Old Beulah Road bridge over Little River north of Micro
The Eldridge Road bridge over Mill Creek near Newton Grove
The Old Stage Road bridge over Little Black Creek near Angier

The N.C. 210 bridge project will force a lengthy detour for drivers headed into Smithfield from McGee's Crossroads and the Cleveland community.
