(TROY) -- Montgomery County Sheriff Dempsey Owens held a news conference this morning concerning last Fridays fatal shooting at McBride Lumber Company that left four dead including the shooter. Owens said today he feels like the residents of his community need closure.
"We need to put this behind us. It's a bad thing that has taken place in Montgomery County and we don't like it here. We're a small county but we know that we're not immune to things going on," said Owens.
He said every shooting victim suffered at least two gunshot wounds. Owens said suspect Ronald Dean Davis entered the McBride Lumber building and immediately began shooting. Davis was later found at his home suffering from a self inflicted gunshot wound, but was still alive. He died early Saturday morning.
Owens said that even after investigators thoroughly read a six page letter found at Davis' side, they still may never know why he opened fire.
