(THOMASVILLE) -- Davidson Community College in Thomasville provided a backdrop Friday for the final stop on a bus tour with Vice President Joe Biden on the importance of education and how two-year colleges play a vital role in job growth.
"You, the community college, are part of the reason why I'm so absolutely convinced that we can accommodate good middle-class jobs that are coming back to the United States," Biden said.
Biden's tour was designed to highlight President Obama's proposal to create an $8 billion fund to form partnerships between community colleges and business to train workers in fields that are growing jobs.
Biden was joined on the tour by his wife Jill Biden and U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.
