(RALEIGH) -- A new game is being considered by the North Carolina Education Lottery.  Keno is currently played in 13 states with draws every four minutes.

The state's lottery commission on Tuesday got a look at how the game is played, but commission chairman Bob Farris said it will be a while before any decision is made.

"We all will have more questions as we look into it more and the main thing that we're trying to do here is raise money for the school kids.  I think we can figure out a way to do that in a way that is productive and within our mandate," said Farris.

Using Georgia as an example, their Keno game brings in an average of $30 million.  More research will be done into the game before  more information is presented to the commission later this year.

Critics are concerned about the game because they believe it resembles video poker and could cause people to play uncontrollably.
