(RALEIGH) -- First Lady Michelle Obama was in North Carolina Friday with stops in Charlotte and Raleigh. Her husband, President Barack Obama, has a visit set for Charlotte next Wednesday. Democratic Senator Kay Hagan says the state does benefit from such visits.
"I think anytime we have the President come to North Carolina, it's a good thing for North Carolina, as well as the Vice President, who was here last Friday talking about community colleges," Hagan said.
Vice President Joe Biden made a stop at Davidson Community College in Thomasville last week and Mrs. Obama spoke at events in the Capital City and the Queen City and promoted her "Let's Move!" fitness program with Charlotte elementary schools.
When he comes, the president will be speaking about economic recovery and steps aimed at sustaining it.
