(RALEIGH) -- Republican US Congresswoman Renee Ellmers has filed a bill that would forbid the state DOT from converting I-95 into a toll road. The 2nd District Representative says other ways could be found to pay for improvements on the major roadway.
"And I-95 has gone unnoticed or always ends up at the bottom of the list, and now we're going to pay for it with a toll. Well, I just think that's absolutely unacceptable," Ellmers said.
Ellmers also said she wants an economic impact study to be done to determine the impact on tolls on the local economy.
