Perdue Outlines $21 Billion Budget
Friday, 11 May 2012 08:44

With a heavy emphasis on boosting education funding, Governor Bev Perdue outlined her $21 billion budget proposal, her last before leaving office next year.

The budget includes a three quarters of a cent sales tax hike -- something republican lawmakers have already said they will not consider. The Governor said, "Good schools are the foundation for a strong economy. The resources this budget directs to our schools focuses on making investments to encourage hiring, job training and job growth."
