U-S Senator Marco Rubio of Florida is visiting Raleigh to promote his new book - and fend off questions about whether he'll join Mitt Romney on the presidential ticket. As the son of Cuban immigrants, Rubio has become a national leader on immigration policy.
He commented on the Supreme Court's rejection of most of Arizona's strict immigration laws.
"But I think the solution to the problem of immigration in our country is for the federal government not the state government, the federal government to do its job. I respect the rights of states like Arizona to do what they did, but I think the best solution is for the Federal government to do its job."
Rubio has outlined a plan that would give visas to children who were brought to the U-S illegally by their parents. As far as the Vice President slot - he says he isn't commenting until Romney makes his pick.
