(CHARLOTTE) -- The Democratic National Convention received the keys to Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte a week ago. The race is now on to prepare the building for the DNC Convention in September.
There is a lot of work to do, including stringing miles of cable and building studios for the media. Chief Operating Officer Theo LeCompte said the clock is ticking.
"We've got a number of different construction aspects that we need to modify and lay about 20 miles or so of IT cabling, upgrade the power and additional infrastructure in order to make the facility ready for us principally to transform many of the suites into media suites," said LeCompte.
Tens of thousands of people will see the work in person, while millions around the world watch on TV. The Convention runs Sept. 3-6.
