(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- Time is running out on the current Congress to get bills passed. Lawmakers are in a district work period until September 10 and North Carolina 5th District Republican Representative Virginia Foxx said they will only be in Washington for about eight days next month.
Foxx said the key item on the agenda when they return to the Capitol is a continuing resolution that would keep the government funded for another six months. "That actually saves money, by the way, continuing resolutions are not bad things because that keeps the spending level lower than it probably would be," said Foxx.
She doesn't feel like anything will get done and she blames partisanship on the part of the Democratic controlled Senate. "We've done our job. We've passed bills that would lower gas prices. We've passed bills that would increase the number of jobs available. We've done our job. The Senate simply isn't acting."
