Johnston County Reacts to Smithfield Shooting |

(SMITHFIELD) -- Johnston County Schools are reacting to Wednesday's double shooting that left a mother and her eight-year-old son seriously injured. Tracy Peedin Jones with Johnston County Schools told News 14 Carolina the district springs into action whenever a tragedy of this magnitude strikes.
"Our principals do contact parents when we have incidents like this and all these types of situations. We have grief counselors who are on campus in order to help both the staff and the students be able to cope with the situation," she said.
Mister Premier Height, Cornel Breon Harper and Sameer Muhammod Edgar are behind bars under $2 million bond each and face a total of 78 charges, including attempted first degree murder.
