(RALEIGH) -- As the candidates for governor work the stump in the weeks ahead, they won't have organized support from the state's largest group of government employees. Dana Cope with the State Employees Association of North Carolina said the group's political action committee opted against issuing an endorsement after meeting with the major party nominees.
"There are not going to be any organized efforts to elect either one of them or defeat either one of them and we look forward to working with whoever wins in that process, because quite frankly our issues are good public policy," said Cope.
Republican Pat McCrory, Democrat Walter Dalton and Libertarian Barabra Howe are seeking the job being vacated by Democrat Bev Perdue.
