(RALEIGH) -- While the NFL and its officials have reached a labor deal, the NHL's work stoppage involving its players has now wiped out the entire exhibition season, including three games involving the Carolina Hurricanes.

The league announced the cancellation of the balance of the league’s exhibition schedule, due to the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHLPlayers’ Association and the NHL.

Included in the cancellations are the Carolina Hurricanes’ contest against the Montreal Canadiens in Quebec City on Oct. 2, the team’s game in Montrealon Oct. 3 and its preseason finale at PNCArena against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In addition, the Hurricanes today announced measures to recognize the loyalty of season ticket holders who keep their money on account with the team, should a new agreement not be reached in time to play a full regular season schedule. It includes 5% simple interest on money kept in ticket accounts (accrued beginning September 16, 2012 through the duration of the work stoppage), which can be used toward additional 2012-13 regular season or playoff tickets, or toward 2013-14 season ticket renewals; 10% discount off the season ticket price forthe 2013-14 season and 5% discount off the season ticket price forthe 2014-15 season.

The team has established a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page on CarolinaHurricanes.com to address further concerns season ticket holders may have.
