(CHAPEL HILL)  -- Today is your chance to help children dealing with illness and their families who are coping. The 11^th annual Children’s Promise Radiothon is underway to assist the North Carolina Children’s Hospital.

The daylong event will feature live broadcasts from the Children’s lobby by a dozen Curtis Media Group radio stations (the parent company of North Carolina News Network) and Time Warner Cable's News 14 Carolina. As our media partners air poignant stories from our patients, families and their caregivers from 6 a.m. through 10 p.m., volunteers will take your calls, pledges and online gifts, raising vital funds to support the Children's Hospital's cutting-edge services and programs.

2011's 10th anniversary N.C. Children's Promise Radiothon/Telethon raised more than $1,000,000—and we hope to raise even more in 2012.
