(RALEIGH) -- The new chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party is calling out Republican legislators for not creating enough jobs across the state.

Pittsboro mayor Randy Voller recently took over leadership of the party. He posed a question to the GOP leadership on Thursday:

"When I was growing up there was an ad campaign called 'Where's the beef?' Where's the jobs?"

Voller is critical of Republicans who want to reduce unemployment benefits, appoint new members to some state boards and commissions, and make changes that he says would hurt higher education.
