(RALEIGH) -- North Carolina leaders who are concerned about the national debt are asking President Obama to make it a priority in his upcoming State of the Union address.
Raleigh City Council member Mary Ann Baldwin is a member of the "Fix the Debt" campaign. She says the president's speech should be about the state of the debt.
"I think people are tired of people talking about this. What we want to see is action. We want to see the President and Congress make this their number one priority."
Baldwin says they're concerned that the debt crisis has lost traction recently amid issues like gun control and immigration.
