(RALEIGH) -- If Congress and President Obama don't reach a deal automatic across the board spending cuts will go into effect March 1.
Republican Congresswoman Renee Ellmers says this is not a matter of having more money.
"When you are faced with a difficult economic decision in your family, you sit down and you figure out what you need to cut out from your spending. The federal government needs to do the same."
Ellmers says she believes the GOP led house has offered some genuine options, but has not received much cooperation from the Democratic president or Democrats in the Senate.
