RALEIGH - An RTP bio-tech company has opened a crop research lab dedicated to helping farmers grow more food from fewer resources.
The opening of the 72-million dollar Syngenta facility brought Governor Pat McCrory, U-S Senator Kay Hagan, and Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler to Research Triangle Park. Pablo Hernandez of Syngenta says the research lab can simulate environments from any climate in the world.
"we can put a weather station in Iowa and simulate the climate in one of our rooms."
The lab will focus on research involving corn, soybeans, sugar cane, and other crops.
