RALEIGH - The days after a major storm mean clean up and repair work is underway. But, its also prime time for scam artists who will try to separate you from your money.

State Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin says and its not just those who are fraudulent workmen.

"There's also folks who will hold themselves out as insurance adjustors, so it's not just repair people. Someone may say they are an insurance adjustor and they need to be licensed with the department as well, so call us to make sure that adjuster is who he or she says they are."

If you a question or concern, you can contact the commissioner's office at1-800-546-5664 or go on line to dcdoi.com.
