RALEIGH - The leader of a conservative values group says the Moral Mondays protesters would be more effective if they voiced their concerns in a different way.

Tami Fitzgerald of the North Carolina Values Coalition says if they want to influence policy, they'd be better off meeting directly with legislators.

"If they really wanted the legislators to hear them, they would go upstairs and visit with them in their offices, which they are invited to do, they are welcome to do. The building is open to the public."

Fitzgerald says there's a misconception that the faith community is behind the protests. She doesn't believe they represent all religious leaders.
