RALEIGH - Country music fans will be glad to hear that this year's North Carolina State Fair will feature several great performances.

Andrea Ashby with the State Fair says this year, fair-goers can expect a performance from local American Idol winner Scotty McCreery. “He was pretty popular last year and… he’s a hometown boy so it’s kind of hard to go wrong with that. He’ll be here two nights for the state fair this year so he’s obviously a big headliner for us.”

Ashby says that Joe Nichols will also be performing. “On the 19th Joe Nichols, who’s a Grammy winner in the country music world, will be here as well so we’re pretty excited.”

She adds that there will also be shows by the Eli Young Band, Randy Houser, and even a Michael Jackson tribute band. Tickets for these shows, as well as many others, can be purchased at ncstatefair.org beginning August 1st.
