KENLY -- Police in Johnston County are trying to sort out what led to a large fight early Monday morning where gunshots where fired. There were multiple arrests.  The incident happened near a Food Lion grocery store on U.S. 301 in Kenly.

Eyewitnesses said gunshots were fired, but no one was hit. Kenly police had to request backup from several agencies to break up the fight involving 15 to 20 people. Eight people were arrested and three cars were towed from the scene.
