BURLINGTON - The founder of an outdoor drama which chronicles the role of the Quakers in the revolutionary war has died. James Wilson developed the Sword of Peace outdoor drama at Snow Camp in Alamance County which started 40 years ago.
His son Brian Wilson says many on the area have reflected on his accomplishments.
Lots of people have come by and talked about things that he has done with them and for him and their experiences with him and the theater. And also in the community, things like kids that have played ball on teams that he coached."\
Two decades ago, a second outdoor drama was added to tell a story of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. A memorial service for James Wilson will be held October 5th at the Snow Camp Outdoor Theater.
