RALEIGH – While the legislature did not approve Gov. Pat McCrory’s plan to move much of the state’s economic development responsibilities into a public private partnership, efforts are underway to meet such a goal.

NCNN's partner SGRTODAY.com aired an interview with State Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker that plans were being made using money set aside in the state budget to create the public-private entity envisioned by the Governor. The interview first aired on the SGRTODAY.com exclusive interview with Barlow Herget last week.

Meanwhile, the next step came on Monday when official paperwork was filed with the Secretary of State’s office. Additional paperwork will also need to be filed with the IRS.

Decker is in the process or interviews potential staff for the partnership.
