RALEIGH -- Governor Pat McCrory has decided against spending up to $230,000 in taxpayer funds to remodel bathrooms in his private living quarters at North Carolina's Executive Mansion.
A spokesman for Governor McCrory said the work being done to remodel the bathroom at the Governor's mansion will be cut back to a "very limited amount of funds." The remodeling is said to repair potential code violations, fix broken faucets, and extract mold. An estimate showed that over $100,000 had been allocated for the master bathroom to bring in new marble, bath fixtures, wood work, and a ventilated water closet. The remodeling comes in the middle of demands for tightening funds from public schools and social programs.
