RALEIGH -- NC Tracks is the state's new program that was supposed to fast track Medicaid payments, but a recent audit says the Department of Health and Human Services suggests the department could have done more to expedite payments to Medicaid providers. State Auditor Beth Wood told WTVD the department owes more than it has given.
Wood said, "They really have no plan to track the vendor against how long it should take to fix them. So there's no assurance from the department that the defects are being fixed as fast as they should be."
DHHS offered a statement that said, in part, that their focus was on improving the system and ensuring payments to providers.
