RALEIGH -- Many North Carolinians have been keeping a close eye on the state Department of Health and Human Services after recent issues, and now some of those voices are calling for the job of Department Secretary Aldona Vos. One of those voices belongs to Garland Pearce, the Legislative Black Caucus Chairman.
Pearce says, "It's time to really look at that and find people who are capable and able and understand that complex system. And get it under control. Because it's really hurting a lot of folks with this unemployment piece, not expanding Medicaid, and now this food stamps issue."
Pearce also represents North Carolina's 48th District in the NC House of Representatives.
