RALEIGH -- The calendar says March, but it appears old man winter wants to take advantage of the last few days before spring as another winter storm moves across North Carolina. Jonathan Blaze, with the National Weather Service, says not many people will escape the storms reach.

Blaze said, "Up in the mountains, fairly significant snow accumulations with some freezing rain, also. In the foothills, initially a mix of sleet and snow, changing to freezing rain. Toward the Charlotte and the Triangle metro areas, gradually during the evening change mostly to sleet and freezing rain, and then over to rain. And out toward the coast, fairly significant rainfall, maybe 1 to 2 inches."

According to Blaze, we are expecting a major warm up over the weekend but cooler-than-normal temperatures will prevail through late March.
